Where will you be in 2015?

Mark your calendars; the New Horizons probe is on its way to Pluto and the Kuiper Belt, by way of Jupiter. My 5 year old will be a monosyllabic pimply adolescent; I'll be 43. Hopefully my bike will have almost as many miles on it as New Horizons travels in an hour...

My company has some valves on that mission. We got an amazing email about the mission today.

I most likely will be here, at my desk, 59 years old and still posting to BF when I should be working.

I'm not sure I want to think that far ahead. My daughter will be 13....sweet little girls turn into evil eye rolling, hate spewing, fire breathing beasts when they turn 13.

And, of course, the boys, who are now walking hormones, start calling...

2015? Not a clue. I currently can't make reasonable projections past 2008.

I hope to be glued to my TV at 11:30am, wathing a 5 second clip from a probe flyby 3 billion miles away, that cost $3 billion to look at some desolite ball of frozen nothing unemployed because my public school didn't have enough money to keep me as a teacher.

Hopefully, I'll be gearing up for my second season as a 60+ Expert at the NORBA DH races. And, hopefully, there will be enough of us by then that they won't make us compete against the 50-year-olds!

I'll be in either a wooden box under the ground or some random guys closet, or being eaten. or will have a super-mega insane version of the bird-flu. Or I could be the president.

I will be complete, living the life that was intended for me again. I will be making a difference in someone elses life, and in my own, though expression, love and tollerance for people who are different.

Be fair. It was only $700 million. That's like a roundoff error for this government...

The news said $3 billion. I am sure, though, after 10 years of corruption, mis-communication and bureaucracy, even the $3,000,000,000 estimate will seem low.

It's funny, because when I read the title, I assumed you were talking about something else and I already planned to say I was going to be clicking refresh over and over again on the JPL mission page waiting for data to come back from the New Horizons probe that launched today. I guess I'm not the only geek on the board.

By the way, my name is on that spacecraft. Take that eubi!

I'll be 33/34 depending on when in 2015. Hopefully having my own house, with my own spare room for work and bike stuff. Perhaps by then I'll also have a young one to help look after. Wow, this is scary, I"m actually able to think far enough in the future where I might have a kid of my own.
