<angry Mali look> Almost got hit by some idiot in a silver mazda pick up on the way home today Really not a fan of this. Not the point where it'll make me stop commuting via bike, but still... Would be nice if there were bike lanes or something on the busier streets I take since cars seem to thin bikes have no rights to be out on one of the roads I have to take to get home.

Other than that it was a good commute New record (I think) at 32:48 with an average of 24km/h. Would kind of like to go hit the country roads for some riding, but it's all gloomy out and looks like it's going to rain (and I'm a big huge pansy)

Signin' off for the night, Foo. Tired. Spent all day on the 'puter, working on a legal email which I have yet to finish, and playin' on Foo. Someone smack me tomorrow if I come on Foo without having that work done first.

Gonna ride my trainer, then maybe recover with some popcorn and Gatorade. Then a glass of wine and another chapter in my book before bed.

When ever I bought a bike, that had pedals with it, the cleats came with the pedals and were included in the bag with the owner's manual, warranty, etc. And that was with all my bikes from the different shops.

With the Moots since it wasn't a complete, the cleats came in the pedal box. The cleats do not come with the shoes but rather the pedals. It is part of the pedal system. From what I understand, (I could be wrong) shoes don't come with cleats because some shoes are compatible with different systems.

Perhaps it varies from store to store Jon, but don't forget you got the Giant at the same place I got the Konas.

I can has cupcakez? Chocolate please!

Mali, get a mirror or take more of the lane and make the drivers change lanes to get around you.

Just finished a quick spaghetti dinner and thinking about mango ice cream for dessert.

Good thing I started a thread in road. If I don't get the cleats positioned right under the ball of my foot I can have knee problems and/or muscle problems injury, etc.

Also. I'm so freakin' dumb. I put the cleat nut inside the shoe, spend 10 minutes trying to screw it in and can't figure out why it's loose.... The shoe already has a silver cleat nut in it. SONOFA...... That's why the 2nd one I put in is still loose.

Eggs-zackerly! The cleats must match the pedals and thus are supplied with the pedals. You can usually buy spare cleats and thats a good idea for wear purposes and so you can have different shoes for different conditions. ( I have a nice warm pair with high cuffs for winter)

I knew he was behind me and was far enough out in the lane that he did have to move into the other lane to get around me, he just cut in really closely as he did it.

I dunno. I guess the roadie won't see even a 3rd of the stress that my mtb goes through.. but still.

Thanks for the input. (the bike went for about $750 CDN before taxes).
Generally, Devinci have pretty fair rep for building good value bikes with nice frames.

I got home an hour and a half ago, and I'm about to go to bed. If I'm lucky I'll get 7 hours of sleep. I've got about 14 in the past 3 days. I haven't been this exhausted in quite some time. No time for dinner, just enough time to go to sleep and then go back to work. I'm just glad I'm working. Unemployment here is the worst in the nation.

Ah, so he was just a jackass. Next time, grab his plate # and report an aggressive driver to the OPP. Be safe!

Oh great! A skunk just went off. I don't have time to try and trap it, and I can't sleep with the smell, so I'm gonna have to sleep with organic respirator filters on. Dangit.

Me or jyo?

I think there was a tornado a few days ago in Michigan. Also working with power washers today was like a tornado. Don't know about jyossarian's neck of the woods.
