Ergh. Three hour trip to San Francisco and back turned into a six hour sit in traffic. Some random traffic, some rush hour traffic, some "Oh my god it's raining what do I do?!" traffic, a few wrecks, and some putz who rolled his SUV, causing dumbass lookie-loos to back traffic up for miles. How fun! Oh well, got a few hours of overtime out of it.

What am I doing?

Sitting at the computer and wishing I was riding my brand new bike!

Evenin' all...

I just finished tuning up the bike so I can join a bunch of friends on a midnight ride... I'll probably be crawling in at 2-3 am if it's like any of our other midnight rides.

Have a wonderful evening.

Headin' to bed, Foo.

My computer crashed (again) earlier. I think I know why. Heh.

Anyway, lots to do tomorrow, and I hope to get a good ride in this weekend, and an early Sunday exploration of the RuBiRu coming up at UNCC on 10/27.... I'm only doing the cycling portion, because I've never run more than five miles before, and that was 26 years ago, when I was a 110/220 hurdler/sprinter in HS.

Me thinks my knees are now too old to take on such loads. But I can sure as hell ride a bike with Speedplays! Heh.

Hey, polara, let me know, on Foo or via voicemail, if you wanna do a ride Saturday and/or a short ride Sunday morning early. Negotiable.

jyossarian, not entirely sure, but a buddy at a LBS said he can likely hook me up with a discount from the shop where he works.

I may go ice skating with a couple of friends tomorrow.

Discounts are always good and everyone's making fixed gear bikes now so choice won't be a problem. Have fun at the rink!

Woah... an hour ago, aprilm's connecting flight was shown as being on time. Half an hour ago, it was 45 minutes delayed. Then aprilm text messaged me to inform me they're on time. And now they're showing as on time again. This is so confusing.

As far as store-bought fixed gear bikes go, I really like the Jamis Sputnik. Minus the carbon fork, at least.

When the pilot found out he was behind schedule, he just started, you know, flying faster.

Welcome to my old world, where I used to wait for my husband when he'd return from a couple of months in Europe. Was frustrating, yet exciting.

You'll look back and smile, jschen. Trust Vega.

Well, the flight's left the gate now, so I guess I can count on a reasonably on time arrival.
