The best place I've been to was the club Julianna in Angeles City right outside of Manila. I walk in and there's not just a hostess, but an entire row of svelte hot hostesses greeting me. They show me to my table and I'm attended to not by a waitress, but three GROs. Two of them sit on each side, the third goes to fetch my drinks. Meanwhile, one of them next to me engages in conversation with PERFECT American English. I see out of the corner of my eye that the other one starts folding up paper-napkins into a narrow strip... hmmm.. strange... The third one comes back with my drinks and slides in next to the one I'm talking to. The one behind me grabs the drinks before I could react and wraps the strips of napkins around the glass so that as it sweats, my hands don't get wet and cold, then she places it in my hand so that I don't have to interrupt my conversation... One of the best times I've EVER had...

I like Scotland, too. Been to Edinburgh. I have been in lot's of castles, the Tower of London, Warrick castle, Windsor castle,(I think), I've seen Buckingham palace! Then there's all the tiny insignificant burgs that dot the English and Scottish countryside; I've been to lots of those, too. Really fun.

New Orleans, before the hurricane (of course). Great food, great drinks, great music, and great people. Amazing architecture, if you're into that kind of thing. Damn shame what happened there...

Crete is the largest Greek island, and it's a long way from the mainland. You either have to fly from Athens or take an overnight ferry (an experience you'll never forget). It has it's very own distinct culture, and a tremendous amount of history. Some believe it was the sight of the original Atlantis civilazation.

It is incredibly beautiful with high mountain ranges, small farming and fishing villiages, and wonderful fresh fish and produce. I've been to 15 foreign countries. I found it to be the most exotic, least Americanized (or should I say "globalized?") and the most mystically beautiful so far.

Also Monaco, Flinder's Ranges in South Australia, The South Island of NZ, Kyoto, Hong Kong and Sydney.

And there still so much to see!

Hawaii. We enjoyed the more off-beat parts of the islands to the tourist traps. We fell in love with the whole culture and atmosphere.

There is a reason they call it paradise.

Hard to say. I love Italy, of course, but I don't know if I'd say it was the best place I've ever been. There are a lot of great countries out there I've been to that are great places- Switzerland, Sweden, Italy, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand... those are great places. Which one is the greatest? Don't ask me- I wouldn't be able to determine which one is better than the other. And I still have a lot of other places on my agenda where I'd love to travel.

Have to go right after a huricane, it takes the Saltwater Marsh Mosquitos three days to regroup.

Going through the northwoods on a cross-country ski trail, light snow falling, temperatures in the 20's(F) - heaven on earth!

Only place that really stands out is a friend's family cabin out in the Kiamichi "Mountains" in SE Oklahoma. It took us a good 45 minutes by 4x4 big-ass-truck to get to the cabin once we hit the dirt roads. Nothing else could make it. Once we got out there, we neither saw nor heard any signs of other people. Which is good, because I don't really want to meet the kinds of people who actually live out there.
