My knowlege of it's origins comes from South Park, as in the inage above. The episode had a posessed Kenny going to Scotland to visit Chef's parents who were plagued by the Loch Ness Monster, begging "tree fiddy" ($3.50) to go away.

then there the rapper Fiddy Cent
