My Sacrifice (final update)

Almost a year ago, I posted about the possibility of having to sell my bikes to finance an eye surgery for my detaching retinas. I got a lot of warm responses. offers of financial help and suggestions on alternate ways to ride should I lose my sight. (I love you guys).

My insurance finally authorized a doctor to look at my eyes again to see what's going on since the last visit.

There has been absolutely NO change. No tearing, no more thinning or detachment as of yet. He said he expected something very worse and this is rare that it wasn't. And as of now, surgery is not necessary! I was actually given permission to resume my normal activities, but still to be very careful, especially about blows to the head.

In other words.....I CAN RIDE!!! I can ride hard, I can ride fast, I can ride because I don't have to sell my bikes!!! YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!

Thanks again to all of you who helped me through this... ((hugs hugs and more hugs))

Siu, I don't know what you posted almost a year ago, but I'm glad to hear that you're okay and that you have bikes to ride and are allowed to ride them.

whoa detaching retinas....... ouch what a blow, great to hear theyve stopped as of now... personally if it were me i would want to ride but there is still a certain amount of disdain, i mean there is still impact to the head albeit small .... better than jogging i say

good luck and ride it up
