...Oregon, that is.

Let the persuasion/dissuasion begin.

I can think of a lot worse places you can go, why Portland? Portland has a lot to offer.

I'm at a crossroads in my life, and just endured a major loss that sort of broke my ties to the South.

I'm always dreaming of the Pacific Northwest and the big woods, I'm sort of a modern day, green romantic, Muiresque type. Time for a change. Life is short, I have nothing left to lose. I don't have anything to take with me besides my brain and a bike, and frankly speaking...I'm scared and thrilled of the idea at the same time.

Also considering: Seattle, Mtn. View, Colorado, Moab, Utah, New Mexico.

P.O. is at the top of the list. Well, after Whistler, BC.

I'll probably sell my car, house, and most of my furniture.

Well, maybe not the furniture. It took me ten years to collect those antiques. *sigh* Gotta let go, too many bad memories....

umm...okay Zach. But that's the type of attitude that makes me want to rebel and do the exact opposite a person tells me to do.

I want to avoid paralysis by analysis. I've spent too much time choked by reason.

I need to trust my gut on this one.

"Thank you for visiting, now go home!"

Would you want to live in a state that honors this slogan?

Okay, that was the good ol' days. Wouldn't live anywhere else myself.

Actually, yes.

One motivating factor for leaving Atlanta; to escape the Disney version of itself that it has become in the last ten years.

Yeah, the south bay area is a zoo of it's own breed. If you want something bautiful, but rather odd at once, but in a good way....go check it out.

Oh, and if you ever go to the area around SJSU, ignore the gay male prostitutes...they are pretty much a protected species, and will leave you alone if you ignore them.

On the brightside, that areas has incredible mountains to go play in, as well as great roads to play on...and there is a BMX park, so whatever floats your boat, they have it.

Oh, and you get the yumminess of TK Noodle....they need to open one down here...NOW!

Portland is a wonderful place to ride a bicycle, that's for sure. Seattle's not bad either, especially compared to Atlanta. It tends to be sunnier for a little longer here than in Seattle. I prefer the community feel of Portland to Seattle, but that's just me. Seattle is a bigger city, so you tend to have more going on.

I moved here from metro Detroit 10 years ago. My brother followed me out 5 years later. We can't imagine living anywhere else.
