More than Iraq, more than Afghanistan, more than Al Queda I find this very disturbing and threatening to the U.S.

(and all of Europe is laughing at us, with good reason).

And forget shopping for clothes... did you ever see what those trendy stores have for prints on thier t shirts for sale? what about those shorts kids wear that have print on the butt? ( I hate those btw)
we are expose to this everyday and they are going to get all bend out of shape about nudity in old masters paintings?
This puritanical U.S. view that sex is "bad" is somehow getting out of control. I think a lot of it has to do with people not wanting to be responsible parents and spend time with and developing their kids. Instead they resort to the quick-fixes of dumping child-rearing duties, teaching manners, values & ethics onto the schools and simply use sheltering and denial on all other subjects. What they're really doing is avoiding and putting off teaching their kids about the facts of life for as long as possible and hoping that maybe somehow they'll learn it on their own later. Well... that delay has severe consequences for the kids.

As we can already see with the vast differences in rates of teenage alcohol-abuse between the U.S. and Europe, wishful sheltering does no good. Kids here intentionally binge and abuse alcohol out of rebellion. Most kids in Europe can drink by 13-14years old and there's no stigma or coolness factor about it. They enjoy it like a soda and don't overdo it. So they might get drunk, crash their bike and break an arm or a leg and learn their lesson. In the U.S. they learn it much too late due to this "prevention for their own good" thing we've got and they're driving by the time this lesson comes around. Getting drunk and crashing a car has much, much more severe repercussions.

Same with this taboo about sex, what's the big deal? It's a natural part of life and there ARE aspects of sex that MUST be learnt by everyone at some point in their lives. It's an integrated part of growing up, developing mentally, emotionally and physically as a human being. When you try to stunt and block emotional/mental learning while the body continues to mature, you're gonna end up with some messed up kids. You have to nurture and support them as they're going through the phases of sexual development, not scare them and shun it as bad. When they hear that from you but their body tells that it feels so good, that sets up the parents as liars and hypocrites. Who are they gonna believe? You or their friends that confirms for them that sex is good.

The most freeky, nasty, party girls I have ever been with in my life had very overprotective parents. I think they go hand in hand. Like it or not, a Camaro backseat, a bottle of Boones Farms, and a Walmart parking lot is in the future of all American girls at least once before they turn 18. Trust me on that. Along those lines, the 10th floor of the Francisco Torres dorms at UCSB was nicknamed the "nunnery" because it was an all-girls floor and they all came from conservative religious families who wanted to "protect" their sweet little girls by keeping them away from the boys. Alot of these girls went to all-girls private schools as well where they never had to learn how to deal with boys and the sexual interactions. Because their parents and school managed the boys for them... by keeping them all away!

So... guess what these girls did when they finally flew the coop? They went WILD! Ever seen those "Girls Gone Wild" videos? Those are just a mild taste and peak at what goes on. The 10th floor nunnery was the scene of the most lurid, perverted, nasty sexual rampages you've ever seen that would make Larry Flint blush! I could tell you stories that would make the most depraved, sick and twisted porn look like Sunday school bible-study in comparison... The 10th floor was also the scene of several suicide jumpers as well... I guess daddy's little girl just had too much trouble trying to assimilate and learn 10-years of socialization overnight...

So the bottom line is: sex is a natural part of life and kids will have to learn it at some point in their lives. Better that you take control of this education yourself and teach them about it and how to be responsible and safe with it, rather than avoid the subject and try to shelter your kids forever. There is just no possible way a parent can ever protect their kids from all pain & suffering, those are when the important lessons in life are taught.

+1 on Danno's post. But obviously there are Puritans on the forum, as well, that's why the thread was deleted. Too bad they're so deeply closeted no one will admit to pulling the trigger on reporting the thread, I'd like to hear personally from them what their reasoning was behind their horror and chagrin.

BTW me personally, not against it, but in a forum like this, againt the rules, which joe, when the server stuff clears up, will be clearing up in the forum guidelines so there is no debate. For now

sexual = no
non sexual bike related = hell ya
sexual bike related but obviously meant for those who can't get any = no
sexual bike related but still REALLY bike related = yes (no not pics of pro females bikers half nekkid)...

live with it, those are the rules we play by on these forums. We are the judges of the pics, we discuss the pics before they are removed (especially if they are borderline) assume every pic removed was approved by Joe himself. Remember, his forum

And as a side, why the hell do we have to go over this every freaking fall...has the riding subsided enough where you guys are that bored with life you need to find lameass pictures to try and shock the forums? Please go pay for a membership to playboy.com and enjoy their fruit of the loom ways. Its nots, and has never been, acceptable here. We were trying to give a little leeway from the concervative view before and once again it was abused. Like my Father when I was 6 used to tell me, give an inch and you take a mile...seems to fit the bill.

Ps I am not gonna close this thread, feel free to whine at me all you like, I don't intend to visit the thread to see responses. I know who is gonna say what and how quickly, rehashing this crap gives me a headache. If you really have a problem, pm me. If you haven't brought anything new to the table other than your boobie viewing rights are being tied down by the concervative man or woman or virtual boobie tying down dude, then I likely won't respond. Read above, that is my response to all. Bring something new and I will gladly entertain mature discussion on the topic.
