Is there any better feeling than new socks?

I just bought a 3 pack of tufty, ankle length rag socks (50% wool, 50% cotton). Even though I was already wearing socks, the second I got home, I opened up the new socks and slipped them on.

Freshly looped terry surrounding my feet = bliss

I wish socks were cheaper, so I could wear a new pair every day. Either that, or maybe the sock company can make socks that don't get all flat and crispy after I wash them.

End of random thought.

All my socks are Red Wings brand. They refuse to wear out. My newest ones are 2 years old. My oldest ones, well God only knows how old those are. I can't remember what it was like to have new socks.

As for a better feeling than new socks, the picture below sums up my thoughts about that...

Good call! But new socks feel great even at the end of the day, while fresh sheets don't really feel as good in the morning

Okay, ignoring my first one I remember one of the best feeling occasions in my recent past. Imagine how great it feels to put on a pair of 31" waist jeans and them being a little loose when a few months earlier you could barely button up a pair of 36" jeans. Now that is a good feeling!

^^^having dropped below 160 for the first time in ten years recently I'd have to agree there^^^
I've worn shirts recently that have merely mocked me from the closet before.

Just so I get this straight, a better feeling is having your face painted gray?

Today I bought a new pair of 32x32 jeans which fit nicely. 2 years ago 36x32 would have been a tight fit. It is a good feeling. Only thing that sucks is that 3 of my 6 Michigander jerseys are now way too big.

That first big sip of whiskey where you feel the burning go down your throat and into your belly. Then you feel flush. You can feel the heat rising out of your shirt and onto your face. Your shoulders and your back loosen up. Your lungs feel like they're inflating and every breath is filled with the fragrance of the liquor. Then you put on new socks and have sex on the sheets you just got out of the dryer.

Actually, now that I think about it, my friend once told me about this recurring dream he was having. He was having sex with a girl we went to high school with while wearing only socks. (He later confessed while we were in college that he had the same dream a couple of times, but this time with the new Kobe sneakers.)
