Fave LOTR "good guy"?

Who's yours?

Maybe a minor character....Eomer? Theoden? Faramir? Eowyn? Arwen? Just some thoughts.

I saw "Return of the King " for the first time last night on TV. I never had any interest in the LOTR movies when they were in the theaters. I saw all three when they were on TV and I was blown away. Now I regret not seeing them on the big screen.

Actually, Boromir: the classic tragic hero. He died well, which is as much as any hero can ask for (you know, other than to ride off into the sunset with the girl).

So caligurl...it's true then that skinny guys can be sexy?

True that....still annoyed that he was not put in the movie. He was definitely one of my favorite characters.

I had to put Gimli, even though I agree with K.T. that his character in the movies was kinda over the top, but he's a feisty muther, so he got my vote.

Golem/Smegal. Boo on all who think him a 'bad guy'. Chaotic neutral, yes... but not bad. Very instrumental in the quest. They would have failed without him.

You beat me to it. If it were up to just Frodo the Clueless & Co, the ring would still be around.

And BTW, I hate it the way Elijah Wood only seems to have three expressions in LOTR, all variations of being in shock: uncertain & in shock; fearful & in shock; utterly paralyzed with fear & in shock. Sheesh.

Reminds me of the old Internet joke about how Lassie's owners spent so much time trapped under various pieces of farm machinery, waiting for Lassie to come to rescue, that they couldn't have grown any crops whatsoever. They probably survived with farm subsidies, and Lassie filed the required paperwork for them.

That I agree with. Elijah Wood is the only person, maybe in the entire movie trilogy that I hated the casting on. Too bad he was the MAIN CHARACTER.

Eowyn! Awesome chick who knows how to stand up for what she believes in, she gets in there and is not afriad to fight! But I voted for Treebeard because I LOVE the ents! Coolest characters in the world.

I loved Eowyn for that too. In a time when it was REALLY taboo......she'd be like the original woman's libber. Kinda like a Joan of Arc or Mulan or something like that.

One of my favorites, in the book, the film version is at best a pale shadow.
