Friday I shared a 2009 Double Bastard with my wife. A nice sipper. I still have a 2007 in the cellar.

Coffee from a thermos. It's a nice thermos I borrowed. I'd take a picture but I seem to have exceeded my monthly data limits or whatnot.

Stella Artois. Had to try it after hearing the hype.

Meh. Diluted Heineken. Not a big pilsner fan. I prefer an imperial ale or stout. Or even a cheap quart can of Busch, Milwaukee's Best or Lone Star, if I'm just hot and thirsty for something to go with pizza, bbq or Mexican food.

I agree. I'm not a fan of any lagers (including pilseners). Is there any hype other than Stella's own (admittedly excellent) advertising campaigns?

since you're in sd, i recommend the craftsman 1903 pre-prohibition lager from craftsman brewing located in the pasadena are north of dtown la. best american lager i've had. frequently found at blind lady alehouse in normal heights on adams ave. their hefeweizen just might be the best american hefe as well. only found both on draft. if you're looking for either in can or bottle, haha.

fall brewing co on 30th street (near 30th/madison) has a newish lager...czech lager "rise above." not too shabby.
more of a pale/ipa fan but there's something about a good lager. fall brewing is one of the handful of sd co breweries that actually
jumps into lagers. the vast majority don't. eppig brewing on el cajon blvd and ohio has some solid ones as well.

Argentinian malbec. It's a nice flavorful red wine, and it's usually easy to find a cheap one.
