Is it a bad thing that. . .

. . . I totally LOVE corny music?

I mean, I'm sitting here listening to whatever bland musak they're piping in, and I love it. Songs in the last half hour or so have been:

Time After Time (Cyndi Lauper)
Working my Way Back to You Babe (Frankie Valli)
Don't Turn Around (Aswad)
A Groovy Kind of Love (Phil Collins)
Have You Ever Seen the Rain (CCR)
The Beat Goes On (Sonny and Cher)

And I've loved every minute of it. Please, someone shoot me! (alternatively, if someone wants to just get up and dance with me, that's OK too!)

Ok, the next song up is even more embarrassing, because it's one I genuinely like: Linger by the Cranberries.

Pheard made fun of me for listening to Barbie Girl by Aqua.

I'm a Barbie girl, in a Barbie world! Life in plastic, it's fantastic!
You can brush my hair, undress me everywhere. Imagination, life is your creation!

CCR is cool, everything else makes me want to bludgeon you with my Gibson SG, stuff you into my Marshal stack and blast some Back in Black until you are cured of your bad taste.

Pfft. Marshal. I'm more of an Ampeg fan myself. Or SWR.

Turtle, I hope you're a female. Because if you're a dude, it would be kinda weird that you're singing to me like that.

Yes, I listen to songs which would be embarrassing if other people heard them.

Why do we like what we like? It's mysterious, isn't it?

My entire music collection is pretty much corny. And there's a lot of it. Most of it's from the 80's and 90's.

Hey wait a sec, "Linger" is a great song. Dolores O'whatever has a beautiful clear voice. "Time After Time" is also a great one.
On the other hand, "Groovy Kind of Love", either by Collins or the original from about 1972, makes me want to hang myself with my own small intestine.
But lest anyone accuse me of having good taste, I'll confess that I like "Dancing Queen" and "Brand New Pair of Roller Skates". I know, very sad. I should get help.
