The most dumb thing you have done.

Kind of like the gross thread, but dumb. It can be gross too, but its gotta be dumb.

I got buzzed by a 280 line once. Buzzed my heart. I'm somewhat lucky to be alive.

Whats the dumbest thing you have done?

I had a 1970 GTO Judge. I was 17 and had a hot car. Bad combination! We decided to drink some beer and smoke some pot. Somehow I managed to roll this car at speed. Dumb? Of course. I was lucky to live, and the car would be worth a mint today.

dumbest thing....had to be when I decided to take my old sunbird, while loaded to the axles with cargo (my move to california), and do a drag down the bonneville salt flats. I'm pretty sure having that overloaded car hit 110mph was part of it's demise.

Now that you mention the car stories.....There was that time in my senior year in high school I took my 1976 Chrysler Cordoba airborne with 15 people piled in the car (to see if I could get airborne) by hitting the steep railroad tracks (you know the ones on Ft. Harrison road) at about 100mph.

Yes...it killed the car.....but that car was nearly dead already anyway.

Backed a tank through a motorpool wall. My ground guide actually was at fault, gave me a poor signal. Wouldn't have been that big of a deal, but the post commanders Mercedes was on the other side of the wall, waiting to be serviced. OUCH!

You see, we have all done things that were very stupid, but through the grace of God or sheer luck we (and anyone else involved) came out unscathed.

Too bad we are so critical of others when they mess up.

I slid down one of these at camp:

https://www.huvipuisto.net/huvipuis/w...big_slide2.jpg

Normally, you sit on a burlap sack for a bit o' extra speed, but over this particular spring break in 1994 or so, we had an ICE STORM (it's Kansas, don't ask).

Well, if you sat on the slide, you'd stick to it and go really slow. If you sat on a burlap sack, you'd not go anywhere. If you put a bit of ice under the sack, you'd move alone just fine.

Well, I decided to grab a piece of ice that was as big as the burlap sack. I set the sack on a chunk of ice, dumped some water on it, let it sit for a few minutes, and voila, ice-lined! It peeled a bunch of ice off the ground.

I slid down the first slope, hit that shallower slope area, and basically flew through the air, not really landing until the end of the slide. I messed up my back so bad I could barely breathe for 3 days, and I was aching for a few weeks after that.

... Then there was the time I dislocated my shoulder while skiing unmarked trails because my buddy went into shock up at the top of the mountain and we were somewhere out-of-bounds that ski patrol would never look...

I think we all have done things that we think about and thought to ourselves, now why did I do that?? I wouldn't say they were stupid but more that it makes us grow in our decisions later in life.
