Use friggin headphones! *rant*

[Rant]

Ok, I'm trying to work on some chemistry homework right now, just doing a whole bunch of mindless little equations. One of the guys in the house is listening to music in his room really loud. I'd tell him to turn it down, but it wouldn't help. I DON'T WANT TO HEAR YOUR CRAPPY ASS MUSIC!!! USE ****ING HEADPHONES!!! And another guy is playing some stupid boxing game on an xbox which is just as annoying as music.

I don't get it! Why can't these people learn how to use headphones?? I use headphones whenever I'm on my computer so I can listen to music as loud as I want and no one else has to hear it. When I watch TV, I turn down the volume as low as I can so even I can barely hear it.

This is just pissing me off! I can't wait till next year when I'm in an apartment with just one of my other friends. Should be much quieter and easier to do work.

[/Rant]

uhhhggg! Very appropriate post for today. A new guy has moved into the cubicle beside me and apparently loves his classical music. Gonna have to squash that first thing tomorrow morning. I'm also going to suggest he invest in a good pair of headphones. If that doesn't work I'm going to be prepared to battle it out with some 70's Country music

A few years ago My gf and I lived in a household of folk that was into...
Roomate 1...Rodgers and Hammerstine Showtunes...My Fair Lady,Camalot,South Pacific,Oklahoma ect
Roomate 2...Scream Emo!
Roomate 3... His X-Box or whatever they had at the time

We decided to put an end to tha Volume Wars...
1 500 Watt Pioneer 5.1 sound system 12 Inch Sub
1 340 Watt Altec-Lansing 3.1 sound system, 8 Inch Sub
2 Pair JBL Speakers,15 Inch woofer,two 6 Inch midranges,1.5 Inch Horn Tweeters

Tied all this into my Computer, Cranked up the Winamp Mixer and Then broke out the 70's Disco!!!
They survived the Donna Summer,
Really started to sweat when the Burtha Butt Boogie Broke out,
But when Disco Duck hit the stage, they started to convulse, turn green, and pleaded for us to stop!! Worked Wonders!!

Holy ****, I'm right here with you. My room mate's girlfriend lives here. She always has the tv cranked way the **** too loud. Seriously, the neighbors under us must hate us. To make it worse, the only real place I can work on homework is on the dining room table. It's so loud, I seriously can not concentrate. When she was in school [dropped out] if she needed to study, I'd go in my room and read or get on the internet instead of watching TV. My room mates are incapable of showing the same respect. I think it's safe to say I'm moving out pretty soon. One of my other friends is moving into a brand new house this summer and I'm going to move in with him. I just have to get through this semester in the mean time.

Okay, don't tempt me. There's an AR15, an FN Police shotgun, a Taurus titanium 357, a glock 17, and a S&W 1911 here. I've got something better though. Just remove this low pass filter from my ham radio and watch the tv go insane.

I had some military shooting ear plugs that I've had forever. I can't figure out where they've gone to now. They were great.

Take them some coffee laced with Methyl Blue! It passes through the kidneys without damage and turns their pee the color of Tidy Bowl blue. Won't do anything for the volume, but the results should be hilarious to watch and hear about!

Simple, find an appliance that overrules the breaker. Tell them the stereo pulls too much power when cranked. Every time they play it too loud plug in the quiet appliance (heaters work well) and they'll get tired of resetting clocks

Have you ever thought that your silence intrudes upon thier space? Seriously, though, there is a study on college students who were heavily exposed to self worth enrichment during their formative years - evidently your friends - because the study found that the product of all that self worth training is a bunch of kids who feel really good about themselves, think they are special, think they are better than others, and don't give a flying F*** if their music is too loud.

Stop by the Physics Dept. & see if you can borrow a white noise machine. Go outside... still hear them? Call the police.

Haha I like the way you think!

I did the same in my last place, except I used a plug with ends stripped off and just shorted it out.

seriously though, I don't see why headphones are such a big deal. If it came down to a volume war, well, I have the biggest stereo and best music. I just find it hard to concentrate on something that's actually relatively mentally challenging when I have to listen to South Park at 100db
