Woah! New Foo Lady! Once again, my vote goes out for this thread to be the best thing ever on the internet.
From your profile: (Not that I have any stalker tendencies or anything )
Interests
Golf, belly dance, dive bars, figuring out road biking, eating excellent food.

Now, if we just add "poster of huge amount of pictures on Foo" to your profile, that would be perfect.

Hi MissKristen! I am a belly dancer and it sounds like we have similar histories. I also started out on cabaret, both Egyptian and Turkish, and now I'm doing tribal fusion and gypsy. I do have to admit I'm lucky to live where I do. Good to see another belly!

uh oh, TWO belly dancers.

I'm going to have to learn some middle eastern music to play on the tuba-bike.

Welcome MissKristen

That sounds like a stellar idea. I'll get to work on figuring out trainer belly isolations.

Shadiyah that's awesome Sounds like we definitely have similar dancing backgrounds. I liked cabaret for the most part, but tribal is where my heart is. Is that you in your avatar? Your kuchi/cowrie shell set is awesome. Do you dance in a troupe?

Thanks for the warm Foo welcome, everyone. Happy to be here I'm bouncing off the walls watching all of this snow fall on the ground. I'm glad I got such a good deal on my bike (I got an '08 on clearance last week), but good lord does it suck to have to look at it sitting here while snow is being dumped outside.

I agree about the tribal. It definitely fits me better. That is me and thanks! I made that bra myself with the help of a friend. I do dance in a troupe, but I will have to leave them when we move out of the country. I hope to teach in Costa Rica (my new location) and host belly dance retreats eventually.

Maybe you could buy a trainer and ride it at home?

Sweet. I'd love to build my own sets... I should learn how to do that! That's sad that you'll be leaving your troupe, but hey Costa Rica doesn't suck!!! That sounds amazing.

I was thinking about getting a trainer... I was also thinking about going to the gym that I pay monthly dues for... hmm...

I heard a strange rumor/comment that trainers aren't a good idea because they end up flattening out your tire? Anyone know anything about that?

Hey at least we're keeping the thread on the first page...

But alright, here's one of me as Kitty McPhee and my friend as Linda Lipstick. I had an "incognito" theme for my last birthday, so we all wore wigs, trench coats, sunglasses and had aliases. I'm on the right.

You can get a special trainer tire for your bike (or just use an old tire) because you will wear it out over time.
