Dance Dance Revolution

Somebody I know got this game for the PS2 for their birthday recently. I was pretty skeptical, the premise sounds stupid to me, but I gave it a try... and it's really fun!
Anybody else played this game at all?

I used to like this game. I used to play it with my brother just for fun. Then I got my job at the bowling alley where the game was constantly played from 10am to 10pm. DDR has gotten on my last nerve for I would hear the same song over and over again. I just can't really play it anymore.

I'm far too self-conscious to play DDR. Plus I'm a big, clumsy dork anyway. No need to accentuate it by trying to dance.

I've played it before, but I'm about as coordinated as a monkey fornicating a football.:)

I used to play it quite often, my friends and I would go hang out at the arcade to play.

Then for some reason I just stopped and don't really have any interest in getting back into it.

I've played the PS2 version once, didn't really enjoy it. Guitar Hero is a lot more fun. :)

+1 million.

I am a DDR king. My 6 year old neice begs for me to play cause I always shake my booty and do more than just tap the controls :)

Oh hush. You aren't that big and you aren't that clumsy.

Recently we went to Dave and Busters, and there was this guy there, wearing a Dance Dance Revolution 2005 World Championships T-shirt going to town on the game. He looked a bit like a cross between Kip and Napolean Dynomite. Had his own towel and bottled water, and carried a little battery operated fan that he would set on the machine during his "sessions" to help cool down his dance fever. He was getting really high scores, but not sure if I would ever call his manic, spastic, jerky, body movements dancing. He should have been on a machine called **** **** Revolution.

My 17 year old daughter is very good at this and recently talked me into trying the easy level of "Butterfly".

It's oddly addictive and a pretty good workout. I was sweating...

I'm not big, but the rest fits.
I'm pretty sure that if I was ever seen playing DDR, I would have my licenses revoked and be hospitalized for suspected seizures.

Maybe I'm not as prone as I used to be to nearly falling over while standing still, but I'm still uncoordinated and dorky enough that dancing (be it the regular kind, or the revolution kind) is not likely to be a part of my repertoire any time soon. ;)

I played a lot when I was in high school. You do look ridiculous, but it's a ton of fun. My friend got totally addicted to it and lost 40 pounds in a few months.

It's always more interesting to see "freestylers".

DDR is for n00bs.

In The Grove is the Pro stuff.

I just found this bad video on youtube. This is the guy we saw as well, based on description. He must live there!

I'm currently trying to write something up for a grant in order to get enough of these for my school P.E. class. I would love to have enough for about 1/2 the kids to dance at once and let the others rest. Take turns kind of thing. The programs for school still cost a pretty penny and then you need to get enough pads for all, then practice pads, etc.......
I think this program and others like it would be great for kids!

Back in TX I was the DDR king in my household! Of course it was only my wife and my 3-4yo daughter at the time. But I kicked their butts all over the dance pad! Muahahahahhaha!!!
