Someone threw water at me while riding

Today I was cruising down the road on my bike, not in the way of anyone, and some jerk-off throws water out the passenger-side window of a car on me. Only a little got on me, but it's the principal. People can be ******.

Ohhh I hate people like that. Sorry that it happened to you. Good thing it didn't suprise you enough to make you crash.

You betcha. Keep it in perspective though. The jerk kept moving. If that happened to me I'd try to get the license plate and report it, if only to make the person aware that when he/she does something like that it can draw attention from the authorities.

It was hot enough today on my ride that I would have yelled "Hey thanks! Do it again!"

They'd probably seen it done on the Tour.

You sure it wasn't something more sinister?

Usually i'd be pissed, but if someone did that to me today i'd thank them. Maybe they were trying to be nice?

As said. What makes you think it was water?

If you can catch them at a red light or where ever, it's your civic duty to return the container to them. Finder's keepers does not apply to beverage containers.

If there was no container, at least try to return the water, and if that's too difficult, just give them some water from another source... like your salivary glands.

Ok, spitting on them might not be the best idea, but I would totally return the container in the most painfully innocent and friendly manner possible.

As scary as it is to have things thrown at you by passing vehicles, I'd take water over all of the other things that have been thrown at me during my years as a cyclist.

(coins, half empty bottles, rubber tie down cords, food of all sorts, and my personal favourite - the 70mph pat on the back (I think/hope he broke his hand))

Water feels good around this time. I'd yell at them to throw a bucket at me.

Bunch of girls did that to me when I test rode my chopper after we built it up at my best friend's shop after hours. It was funny and sucky at the same time. Not the worst thing that has been thrown at me. I think that award goes to the d-cell battery that hit me on the inside of my right calf, thrown from a car moving at high speed. That one stung a little.

I had a smile and a wave thrown at me this morning. Yeah, really!

I was stopped along side the road, near a stop sign, having a bite to eat and a sip of water and this very nice lady waved to me and shot me this killer smile.

Made my ride, it did it did.

When I lived in Charlotte NC I had some rednecks throw a full can of Budweiser at me. Luckily it missed it could have killed me. Stupid redneck *****monkeys. I have not had anything like that happen to me since moving to western PA in 1995.
