If you do not have a lot of cash go with fresh water. I quite enjoy watching my Oscars and blue channel catfish.

Nothing better then getting drunk with friends and scratching piranhas under the chin.

Never replace all the water in the tank. you may be getting rid of some bad bacteria but your getting rid of a lot more good bacteria and stressing the fish quite a bit.

I have a 20 or 30 gallon tank outside with some minnows and tadpoles and baby crawdads in it. The tadpoles are starting to turn into toads. The crawdads (little lobster like things) just chill out on the bottom most of the time. Not really sure what they eat.

I used to have a beta fish. His name was Ned. He died.

Before that i had a really tight frog about as big as my hand. He liked to jump out of his tank though.

I've got 2 30's and a 10 gallon in my room. I used to have some sweet fish, but I'm some-what waiting for them to die so I get some Oscars. Only got 3 more to go, but they are my favorite. Ghostly (Black ghostknife fish) , Ackie (African Ciclid(Sp?)) , and Cassie (Lace cat). Ghostly's a little over a foot long, and Cassie is probably about 8 inches or so in length, but huge. I'm done.

I think you will find that your crayfish eat the tadpoles/frogs/toads .

You need at least a 55 gallon tank to keep an oscar. To have two oscars you need at least a 75 gallon tank, larger would be better though.

I currently have a 55 gallon tank with one Red Devil in it. I have had her for almost six years now. I also have a 210 gallon tank that is full of wild or f1 cichlids. It also has a 20" pleco in it.

Here are some pictures from my 210.
