Barry Bonds - tonights game

I am not a baseball fan, but I have been watching recently hoping to see Bonds break the record. But I have to say something.

You are a piss poor pitcher when you intentionally walk someone because you don't have the balls to throw a real pitch. That is why I am a football fan. You don't see the defense give up and let the other team score because they are too scared.

That is all....

So, the pitchers are just being smart so the drug junkie doesn't break a legit record.

I guess not, looks like it paid off. The next batter hit a line drive to right field and scored a run.

It's called strategy. Why pitch to hitter like that, if you don't have to? Even if you walk in a run, you take the bat out of a HR hitters hand, and move on to an easier out.

you should learn a little more about baseball, before you post something like that.

FWIW, I'd hit him in the ear-hole, instead of throwing 4 intentional balls.

True that. I don't want to see Bonds at the top of that list even if they do put an asterisk by his name.

And last night he was intentionally walked and the next batter hit a grounder into a double play to end the inning.

Bonds won't hold the record for very long. A-Rod will pass it with ease.

...so what does that mean? Because of McGuire, Sosa, and Bonds....not to mention the others who have cheated....they have cast suspicion on all future record breakers....that's the real shame...

I'd agree with this, but if he's going get to first anyway, they could bean him in the hip a couple of times too.

if he hits 30-35 hrs a year for the next 10 years, he'll pass Bonds record with no problem.

Don't get me wrong I can't stand A-Rod, but it's because he wears pinstripes.

Barry is a jerk(I've met him)+ a cheater(wife, taxes,and baseball).

Yes, I know A-Rod cheats(or has cheated) on his wife too, but at least he's a likable guy + a good teammate.

I was sitting in the left field bleachers the day Henry Aaron hit his 500th home run. I was 14 years old...

The man can barely run. His fielding sucks. He's nothing but a hitter, not a ball player. If he had been more selfish Griffey Jr. could have been going for the records, but he's a team player a gives himself for the team. Steroids or not, Bonds is nothing more than a record chaser. When he can be a team player, than he will deserve some pitches. Until then, walk him or hit him, that's the same amount he gives to the game.

Very cool. I'm glad you were old enough to remember it.

I saw Carlton Fisk's 1975 Game 6 HR, but I was too young to really remember it. My memories are of the clips we've all seen a thousand times.

He'll break the record and you'll like it! lol!

But when he does break it whomever holds that ball will be a benefactor of a nice sum of cash. Ain't no Dodger fan gonna throw that ball back if it happens in LA!

Did you know there are some guys that stand near back of the wall in front of McCovey cove with baseballs in their pockets. So when Barry hits a splash hit these guys toss the "other" balls into the bay to confuse the people on the kayaks trying to catch the HR record balls! hahahaha!

Oh well... Barry will be batting DH next year in the American League and A-Rod will be playing for the Giants since they'll have the extra 18 mill a year from off-loading Bonds at the end of the season. Then A-Rod can be the new HR king in a few years in a Giants uni! Plus he can go back to SS since Vizquel is about 140 yrs old. Although he still plays like he wears two gloves on. Amazing SS! But the Giants need to look into younger talent.

You're smoking crack if you think A-Rod will be playing for less than 30 million a year.

There are 2 teams that can afford to pay him what Scott Boras(his agent) will demand, and they're both in the AL East.

FWIW, I bet Bonds retires, almost like the movie Mr.3000.

No.... Griffey got injured. Otherwise he'd be right up there with Bonds.

But you can't discount Bonds' bat speed and eye for the ball. Steroids alone can't make you hit 755 HR's.

Funny thing is, even if he never juiced, he'd still be a HOF'er for everything else earlier in his career as a great fielder and hitting ability. He always had a great eye for the ball. Now his body isn't cooperating anymore... ie - his knees.

Honest question: why is the league so down on doping now and not in the latter 90's when McGwire and Sosa were the prince's of baseball going after Maris? They obviously weren't that bulked up when they first came up. Why was it not a big deal then, but it is today. Everyone knew. But no one said anything, including the commissioner. I credit McGwire and Sosa for saving baseball. Prior to that year baseball was sliding downhill bigtime. But now they are villains too. Any thoughts?

I can dream can't I!?! hahaha! I know... there are only 3-4 teams that can afford him and he's already playing on one of them. I just wish the Giants were one of the 3-4 teams!

That's not what the inventor of "the clear" said when he was interviewed this week.

EPO wouldn't turn me into a TDF contender, but it's still cheating.
