Should Pheard buy this seat???

I'm a big fan of Selle San Morco "Rolls" saddles. They look good, in a classy way (well, the black ones do), and they are nice and comfy under my tuckus. I think Pheard would like they way they feel. And I have a sneaking suspicion that he just might like the color of this particular one, currently up for bid on eBay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/San-Marco-Rolls-...QQcmdZViewItem

So, fellow Foosters, should he go for it?

I'm broke.

Just bought a Ti road frame.

Though that seat is utterly fabulous and looks like hello kitty puked all over it.

Personally, I'd be afraid that whatever they used to get it that color would cause 'nad cancer, but I figured you wouldn't care about trivial details like that, Jon.

just looking at that saddle made me feel a bit girlie.

not that there is anything wrong with that. we all need to get in touch with our feminine sides every now and then.

Can I bid on simply having it put back in the box? Felice Gimondi, Eddy Merckx, and Sean Kelly must be puking their guts out right now.

This is best done by applying your crotch to things. The seat is PERFECT.

Why don't we just glue a bottle of Pepto Bismol laying on it's side to a seat post and call it a saddle?
At least it would be in the right place when his butt starts burning again.

He could put it on the new titanium bike he's getting in three days. He's gonna pinkify it and put a pink Moots sticker on it.

I guess it will look like mine but in a pink version. Something like this:

Errrrrr....why was his butt burning in the first place? Did this require antibiotics?

Please tell me you're joking. Pretty please??? Because putting a "Moots" sticker on a non-Moots frame is a Hocus Pocus No-No. Taking existing stickers off and leaving the frame bare, or putting other non-identifying stuff on a la many a bike messenger, or pinkifying the thing, I can live with. Putting another maker's stickers on, not so much.

Only exception: pro racers often used to have their favorite custom builder make their frames and put on the decals of the sponsoring bike maker. (Less of that seems to go on now, because of the trends to CF and aluminum and away from lugged steel in the pro peloton.) One example out of many: Greg Lemond's frames may have said "Gitane" in the early 1980s, but they were actually built by Roland Della Santa (who still builds great steel frames in the Reno NV area). In these instances, the frame builders knew what the deal was going in, and the word got around to those in the know, and the Della Santas and De Rosas and Colnagos (and a host of others) of the world got plenty of business out of the association.

In this instance, though, you're talking about Moots getting the credit (or blame) for someone else's work, good or bad, in a situation neither of them bargained for.

Sorry, Jon, but some fashion rules simply are inviolate.

Nope. Dead serious. Here's the frame. No bidding necessary. He ordered it straight from Milwaukee Bicycles. Yup. Uh huh. He called me and told me he ordered it. It should come in two days now.

If he posts a pic of that frame with a Moots sticker on it, I am going to ask Brian or Donna for permission to ban him.

He's gonna be my twin *whiney voice*.

We should post both bikes and ask "Which one is the imposter?"

Mich was saying I should take the decals off of my bike and put Huffy ones on. I was going to do that but I forgot to tell the builder not to put the factory decals on.

the seat stays hitting the seat tube down low will give Pheards frame away. he needs to come up with an original name and have decals made. Maybe TOOTS in a font exactly like MOOTS.
