Good CD burning freeware?

My work computer has a DVD-R/CD-RW driver, but they only load it with some crappy cd burning software that locks out half the settings (can't even select speed for example). I love Nero, but I'm not buying another license for my "work" computer.

Any good free ones out there that you know of?

Its not free, but I use VirtualCD (http://www.virtualcd-online.com/) for basic imaging and burning. It can read and burn most formats out there, be it ISO, .nrg, Alcohol 120%, and other formats. It also is great for making images of your critical CDs.

or you can switch to linux and then practically everything is free, and legally so!

of course with running photoshop and having a digital camera, linux isnt as user friendly as windows...

and for those that dont know, Microsoft will NOT be supporting Windows XP after january 1st 2008...which is fine by me, im still running 2000 pro

Not true.

Mainstream phone support from Microsoft for Windows XP Home Edition may end at the end of the year. Online support will still be available. The jury is out as to whether or not they will continue to push automatic security updates at the end of the year.

Windows XP Pro will continue to be supported until 2013 and then online support will be available for another 10 years. Windows NT is still supported through online support.
