unless the guy doing the tires attempted to harm your brother, it sounds like your brother is a vicious dick.

just sayin'

sliced tires vs paraplegic...

ummmm...ya, that was an equal opportunity attack. Sounds like a dude with no control lost it and pummeled the guy until he couldn't walk for doing a petty crim. Might be my Canadian perspective but the crimes are far from equal, unless slicer decided to slice you brother of course. Then it's pure self defence.

you're right, he did get away with murder.

I have a massively bad temper...I learned long ago to control it, especially in situations where I can feel it flair. I have gotten well past the point in my life where I need to beat someone senseless let alone beat someone up. Sounds like some people need anger management classes.

Why was someone slicing his tires in the first place? Slicing tires is usually an act of revenge......

My anger management classes were choir in HS and college and fencing from middle school through...well...last year.

Self discipline is one of the greatest defusers of bad situations.

How's that?

Did you not read the OP?

"hes getting pinned on is possesion of a unregistered weapon"
Obviously used a weapon, and obviously used excessive force to protect his tires.

hmm also works for the original post. Not saying he deserved to be paralyzed just for slashing someone's tires. But sometimes when you're doing stupid stuff bad things happen. He's more to blame for his being in a wheelchair than anyone else.

Chances of it happening are pretty slim, and you probably really have to know what you are doing to hit the sweet spot. Judging from the OP's comments about his brothers temper, im guessing he beat the bejesus out of the guy.

Excessive force, almost certainly, but if the guy continued the fight on his own (which sounds like a sketchy assumption at best, however) perhaps not even that. The unregistered weapon might simply have been discovered as a result of his arrest.

Sledbikes, do you know have any idea why the prosecutor isn't raising charges of either assault or attempted murder? It honestly sounds like your brother went well beyond any sort of reasonable response.

Personally both should be paralyzed, and both are a drain on society.

since the other person had a weapon the attempted murder charge is on him for having the knife and slicing the tires. my brother reacted out of fear of possibly being killed so that ruled out the excessive asswhoping the person got. my brother admitted to having a gun in the truck but since it wasnt loaded and had a lock the charge might be dropped but hell loose the gun in the process.

a unloaded gun doesnt do much for anything, my brother doesnt need a gun to kill someone, the tires were all cut and are gonna be used as evidence i plan on calling some contacts over there to get him some fresh tires.
