Post your photography thread.

I know we have a random pics thread, but lots of people post random stuff they find on the internetz on there.

I was hoping for just one for people who are more into the hobby of photography.

I'll start.

Just five that came to mind and were already up.

I like that first one of yours, it might be pretty sweet if you printed it and then hung it up crooked so the building was straight.

edit: here's one more I forgot to put in

singingsabre: Is that part of the dress or just ink on her boobs?
Fashion photography is pretty cool, but who actually wears that stuff in public? Well, I guess hookers, but..

volleybrad: That one of the two little girls is really cute. The others are great too.

ravenmore: I like the style of post processing on the portraits. Looks like large format film with tilt/shift effects.

Very perceptive - that's exactly where I got it from(saw some images done that way in college and they really stuck with me). Of course I just do it in photoshop or whatever editor I'm using. I select an area I want to stay sharp, then invert the selection, then apply a blur effect (usually a guassian blur).

It's a fashion/art show. It's not about what you wear out to go shopping, but out to the clubs. It's acrylic paint.

The shot was done because the models in the fashion show will be doing similar things and she wanted an image on the flier to match what was happening in the show. In addition to her line of clothing, she's a costume designer (has done some local ballets, stuff like that).

show your work to other people first. get other opinions, try new approaches
you are better than you think probably.

Yep, not really full time but it's my only source of income right now. I freelance for the newspaper here and sell prints of races and framed prints.

I like your second to last one

By the way, what kind of battery grip is that on the camera on your web site? I don't think I've ever seen one with a screen and buttons on the grip.

Yea all my pictures look like crap compared to everyone here. But it's cool I just love being able to see them all. I'll post up those old ones I have. I wish I had the money for a DSLR, I've only had 2 weeks with rented ones and I'm ready to own one by now.

Shot's taken with d40. Repost from old thread.

I've been printing for pay (wet and alt. process) for a while now.
Used to be 50% of my time was behind the camera, and 50% printing. Lately it's been 90% printing.
