lol I think of the scene in, I think it was Police Academy where Hightower needed to learn to drive. So they got in this old-school late 70's Civic hatchback, probably the Civic CVCC. Hightower was so tall that he ripped the front driver seat out, and sat in the rear seat to drive the car.

There's only one kit car I've lusted for, and that's the Chuck Beck developed 904 replica. Chuck is the guy who shoehorned an '89 3.2 liter Carrera engine into my 1970 914-6.

Nope it was the real thing. Even went for a drive in it. It was a little rough but man did that little engine sound goooood.

I used to carpool with a friend in his Honda Del Sol. Jim's 6-foot-7 and I'm 6-foot-4, so the two of us climbing out of that little scootermobile was performance art. Two-seaters are often quite roomy inside.

And the guy who built the Ford Shogun, apparently, which blew my mind when I read about it in R&T as a kid. It does not really belong in this thread, however.

I've always wanted a 356 speedster kit on a shortened VW pan, they're beautiful and you wouldn't be afraid to drive it.

Huge aside-but when I was a teen-riding greyhound bus 1 hr to HS school(long story-1964-1968) I would buy comics.
Well when 1st Nick Fury Shield comic came out Nick Fury was driving a Porche that looked a LOT like that one-about 1967.
It was a really exotic looking car for the day.
Of course it also flew,but....
In My memory-looked like that one-
Cars are almost like smells-bring back memories

The 904 looks like it should have had gull-wing doors. That would have been awesome.

Racing cars usually can't afford such luxuries.

I used to see a guy in one of those all the time, in that Orange that most of them are, but haven't seen him in awhile. He must have been daily driving it based on how often I saw him. Probably locked up for the winter. Someone that parks in the employee lot in my town has a GT-R as his winter DD. Parks like a jerk every day.

And maybe not beautiful, but an awesome old Power Wagon for sure.
