A friend of a friend is supposed to be bidding on a Moretti 750, or maybe just buying it, not sure which.

That's the first I've seen of the Moretti. I can only imagine the sound at full rev's even with 65hp or 73hp "says both" it would be fun in a 450kg chassis.

That other van thread led me to find the first Transit van made in Germany. 1953-64.

Spotted this 280SL sparkling in the sun down the block from my house. I must have spent 10 mins. hovering over it. Its panels were so straight, with perfect shut lines, tight upholstery and gleaming paint. I had forgotten how much I love these. I got somewhat close with a '72 250C (pillarless) coupe years ago - but this one made my heart ache.

^ We never had cars like that where I am. They must have been so comfy as distance cars.

This is interesting to read about. The 1951 Taruffi. https://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&r...47008514,d.aGc

Pillarless coupes is what Benz did best IMO... Besides big sedans.

So Ryan and I were taking a golf cart ride around the lake neighborhood that my parents live in when we come across a beautiful 1957 Chevrolet BelAir hardtop sedan. Stopped and talked to the owner. It has been in his wifes family since his father in law bought it new. He was a pilot for Braniff and drove it as his "airport" car. All original, but repainted. 74,000 miles. 283 car with 4 barrel, auto and A/C. He started it up and let my 8 year old son climb in, turn on the lights, etc. Showed him how to open the hand cranked vent windows, etc. I think that the owner had more fun than my 8 year old, and the two of them were just laughing and smiling the whole time. Car people are some of the nicest people in the world. He did not know me from Adam, but treated Ryan and I like family. I wanted to go back to the house and get Dad and my older son and take them back, but will save that for another time. Turns out Mom and Dad know the couple, so it should be easy to arrange. I will take my camera next time and get a few shots.
