I cheated. Found a Winton Bullet on the page you pulled your photo from and then used the Googles to find out about famous Winton races and found the story on the Ford site about Henry racing, and winning because his car did not fall apart, etc.

Well done, but you did it the hard way. The other photo is clearly named 1901_ford_sweepstakes. I love the wheels on the Ford. They are new bicycle-style wheels as opposed to the Winton's wagon style wheels. Stronger, lighter and faster.

Here's a Winton that did win a big race. It was the first car to make it from San Francisco to New York, "The Vermont". The film "Horatio's Drive" about the trip by Ken Burns is an entertaining for anyone who is interested about the early days of motoring.
