List only relatively obscure names--no Jimmy Page's or EC's, please.

I used to see him at this little jazz club in Charleston many years ago. 1980-ish.
He was amazing then....

I win for most obscure guitarist. George Sakellariou is my favorite classical guitarist. Even among classical guitar fans he's not terribly well known.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nrFHy3ZI34

BTW, this KQED studio performance from the early 80s is how I discovered him. I saw it when it was first broadcast. I think he played for an hour. I made a crappy "bootleg" recording off of the TV, and I still occasionally listen to it (it's digitized now).

Is Stevie Ray Vaughan considered to Jimmy Page, EC? His appearance on Austin City Limits is on my list of favorite musical performances to watch.

Which one? The early career or late career appearance? Both are awesome but I find his '89 performance of Tightrope particularly poignant because of his recovery, then early demise.

But then, I saw SRV live in Austin (in '88 or '89), that beats any TV appearance.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdKHtE0QTwc

I remember this MTV unplugged performance. He appeared with Joe Satriani, but they performed separately. Comparing their sets, SRV just annihilated Satriani. Satriani played with a percussionist and played like a single-string electric player who wasn't sure what to do with an acoustic guitar. SRV made Satriani look like a hack.

I actually think the early one was better, but they were both great.

Jimmie Vaughan I love his playing. Kinda the opposite of little bro's style, all tone and restraint.

Grant Green is probably famous. There is video, I was surprised to find: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9AsWLMUdIZk I prefer his B3 duets though.

Richard Thompson might be too much of a gimme too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAS4ltt7DzI

John Mooney is a fave: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uu136rUAC6E

Jimmy Ryan plays mandolin but Mark Spencer plays guitar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZsbFDjjr1s

Eric Ambel is a BF member! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gkVATV4qAQ
