Thanks for the affirmation. They still look somewhat oversaturated on my main monitor, even after calibration.

Yeah, my XT came with that lens. It's okay, and I got some good results out of it, but it's not great. On the other hand, the 50mm f/1.8 and the 17-40mm f/4 are a ton of fun.
