I wasn't expecting a 'serious' answer, just more of the same (above) from the regular contributors with *perhaps* a nugget of wisdom thrown in if I was lucky.

But if you don't have the balls...

Do you like running the business? Or are you just holding onto it now for the money?

I'm not really running it - someone else is. Think of me like an absent landlord.

It continues to exist because it serves the needs of a small sporting community (ie only 5 other companies in the world do this) and would be a PIA to them if it closed. In case you wonder - specialised sporting safety equipment.

I'm going to take the money and ride, but not spend it on a new Cervelo.

Obviously.

Anyone who thinks golf is not a sport (or auto racing) is profoundly and completely incorrect.

However poker is not a sport.

As for your team? Meh...they're okay. You, on the other hand...hawt!

I've had a cash offer on a small sideline business that I started a few years ago. Not enough to make a living off, but nice pocket money. I've been offered the equivalent of two years profit margin, plus cost of existing stock.

Seems like a good offer and I think that this guy can really make the business work (he's a bigger player in a related industry).

Should I take the money and run?
I'll stick my neck out on this one. is this their first offer? if so ask for more. 2 years is low, especially since you don't have to do much to run this as an "absentee landlord". continue to sit on your hands for 2 years and you get the same.

Oh yes, I have been shelled twice, but I'm hoping that won't happen again this year. I'm in better shape now. Particularly after I race @ High Point on Saturday. I will be skinnier than A. Schleck.
