Positive thoughts and prayers needed

Well, it seems like there have been far too many bad things happening lately, and I hate to add to the feeling of malaise. But, that said, I just needed to vent for a minute.

My wife went for a CT scan just over a week ago to investigate some pain she's been having in her right leg. They did an abdominal scan and--since they were there--her doctor ordered a scan of the kidneys. I'm glad he did. There appears to be a mass in the right one, and he says it's ninety per cent likely to be cancerous. She goes for an MRI tomorrow to confirm the diagnosis.

The good news here is that it was caught early. Her odds are good because the cancer is contained. Surgery is the only treatment, and it's a matter of removing the right kidney. I've kept telling myself this over the last few days and put on a good face, and I've been pretty good until this morning. But the truth is that I lost my father to cancer, and I'm worried sick that it's taking my best friend.

Anyway, spare a thought or a prayer if you can. Thanks.

She's on my "good thoughts" list, BB. I hope all goes well. It sounds like its early detection so I would hope for a full recovery without too much trouble.

One of the woman at work went in this past Summer for her foot/leg ---- and she also ended up getting a full x-ray, etc - and eventually a MRI - where it was discovered that she too had a mass in her kidney. She said she was glad she had went in for her foot in the first place! Had the kidney out and she is fine.

Sending lots of positive thoughts!!

Hooray for hunches and "for the hell of its", eh?

It's great that they caught it early, and the doctors sound like they're optimistic. Good luck to you both.

You've come to right place - Foo-magic can work wonders (just ask scottmorrison). All the best comin' your way for you and yours.

It is so hard to do, especially when you have history with cancer in loved ones, but try to cultivate a mindset of not running all of the parade of possible bad outcomes. In such situations, I try to remind myself to worry about something when I have something to worry about. As I said, it isn't easy, and it certainly does not prevent all of the fear and worry, but it can help get you through a day.

In any event, please know that the Foo Nation is on your side.

These are YOUR words ^^^

Of course you are going to be afraid...you've been through this once before. But every person is different, every situation is different. You said yourself that her odds are good. And I'm gonna believe you. Look at the picture of Dave up there. TWO WEEKS AFTER!!

Try not to let yourself get tied up into the "what ifs". It's gonna tear you apart. Revel in the fact that it is indeed caught early and pretty much contained. She's gonna be alright. It was caught EARLY. Just make sure that along with all of your support you let her know that over here on BF she is getting a lot of Foo Energy and prayers.
