Sound feasible?

I donated blood yesterday and typically it takes around 10 minutes (I had aspirin in my system) and the questions take longer than the actual donation itself.

Yesterday, it was going slowly and the phlebotomist said that it may be because I hadn't had fluids in the morning. Sound bootleg to you? When the needle came out, it took a while for me to stop bleeding.

So was the phlebotomist blowing smoke, or is it possible that because I didn't have any fluid that my blood would flow slower? Or, did she just hose up the needle?

sounds correct....dehydration will make the blood thicker and therefore flow slower. It will also reduce blood pressure making the blood flow even slower.

So...I can lower my blood pressure by not drinking enough fluids?
