I think it's fun and rather nice to take pride in one's hometown and it's made even better when you happen to know your queen and her family. A lot of the comments were just plain childish but understandable considering the source.

Makeup that is barely noticeable or not even noticeable at all and complements a woman's natural beauty is great (like, tastefully done with a light hand), and is preferred by men over "bare" faces, but overdone makeup just sucks. Some beauty queens have overdone makeup, but some are really good at using just a little to make them shine.
