Yay! Join the club; there are now TWO members!!
I can't stand make-up, period. No make-up. None. Nothing. I can't stand it at all.
Make-up makes me sick. It bugs me to no end.
It's fake. It's deceptive. It isn't real. To me it's a sign of insecurity or conceding to society's expectations.
I have had the fortunate chance to see many women with their normal make-up getup as well as completely make-up free. And only once have I thought a woman looked better with make-up.
My wife wears no make-up. Nothing. Nada. Never. And she is so darn beautiful to me I can't express it enough. She used to wear make-up, though. She didn't stop wearing make-up for me, though. She just went without make-up for a few days and others, too, realized how beautiful she was without it.
And it's not just my wife. I have friends also who have stopped wearing make-up after taking the time to look at themselves without it.
P.S. Make-up as an expression or accessory is different. For example, I had a friend who would wear bright purple eyeshadow, or red mascara, and that never bothered me because she wasn't trying to make herself still look "natural" with make-up. Instead, make-up was an accessory to her like a hat or rings to someone else.

She's pretty, wp, but she's no Miss Greater Greer.

A lot of the comments were just plain childish but understandable considering the source.
Now, back to me trashing your hometown queen and exalting mine.

Clayton not big enough to have a queen??

I think it's fun and rather nice to take pride in one's hometown and it's made even better when you happen to know your queen and her family.

I have no problem with you trashing my hometown queen. I take pride in my town, but not because some chica won a beauty contest.
This is why I take pride.

I think he means overdone makeup? I think all men mean that when they say "no makeup is better." Makeup that is barely noticeable or not even noticeable at all and complements a woman's natural beauty is great (like, tastefully done with a light hand), and is preferred by men over "bare" faces, but overdone makeup just sucks. Some beauty queens have overdone makeup, but some are really good at using just a little to make them shine.
