Wow, I feel like such a ****.

I would like to start my work, so I'm going to attempt at keeping this short.

I ride to Starbucks to take advantage of a nice day, and get a ride in there before doing hours worth of work. After a few minutes, I find a seat and a place for my bike. I parked my bike right next to my seat, and placed my helmet right where I was sitting.

I wait on line, and as I look back to check on my bike, a woman takes my seat. I yell at her to let her know that I took it. She responds, "Yeah?" Red flag. Seems like she was waiting for her boyfriend or something.

After I find that they didn't have what I wanted, I get ready to take my stuff and leave. We chit chat for a bit, and then she says, "I was leaving...I wouldn't have gotten up anyway.

Fighting words.

I respond, "Really? Did anyone teach you manners while growing up?"

She says some BS; I respond "Whatever." She calls me a dumb*** as I leave, I responded with a horribly stupid retort. And that was that.

Don't beat yourself up over it, but next time, just let it slide. Or if you confront someone and they escalate, just walk away.

I have a problem with people jumping in line in front of me. I must be invisible. I was in line in Barnes and Noble and an older German couple looked at the line, looked right and me and smooth as you like just stepped in front of me and sneered. It was obvious they were looking for an argument. So I just shook my head and let it be. In the past, I've spoken up, some people have been apologetic, some have been rude and combative. And I argue back, but in the end, I end up feeling all stressed and angry, I'm training myself to let stuff like this just roll off my back.

Yeah, I should've done that instead. I hate having that lingering feeling of anger and rage over relatively nothing.

Next time, loud enough for everyone to hear, shout, "No way I would pay you $20 for sex!"

Then walk out.

first your ipod or iphone, I don't remember which, now this.
I think it's about time you stop shopping at this place and move on to a submarine sandwich shop.

Some people just go out of their way to go on a pointless little power trip. A couple weeks ago, we were in a store, and there's some kid who's maybe five bouncing a large ball in an aisle where there were a lot of glass items. The clerk who's a little preoccupied dealing with us says "No bouncing the ball in the aisle with the glassware please. Thank You."

About 10 seconds later, the mother of the child comes to confront the clerk and informs her that "My child will bounce the ball wherever they please." and tells her to mine her own damn business.

My wife, the clerk and I just stood there in stunned amazement. Maybe the mom was visiting from Brooklyn - or some similar place where sense and manners are optional.

You know you could have a lot of fun with this sort of situation. All it calls for is a bit of STREET THEATER!

Opening scene: Dumb, rude **** is looking for a fight Slowly faint music becomes loader until it's recognizable as Talking Heads tune "Psycho Killer" (works better if there is no known source for music) as your face becomes red with a very visible throbbing vein in your forehead. As you grab your head and start smashing it on the table right in front of dumb rude **** you scream out "No! I will not kill here here in front of all these people, they will start running away and I'll have to chase them and kill them too." With blood dripping down your forehead get right in her face until your forehead to forehead and nose to nose with her and very quitly and reasonably whisper, "You've won this round, but don't you dare think you've won the match."

Get the cheapest coffee on the menu and 'accidentally' spill it on her while collecting your belongings?
