OMG Shoez!!!

I will admit it, I'm an extremely girly girl sometimes. Sometimes I will ride my wee little folding bikes with skirt, flowery top, flowery hat, and heels. Oh yes, heels. I'm currently obsessing over whether to buy these Naughty Monkey Sequin Bouquet Pumps or not:

Are they not the most deliciously delightful things ever? I want them, but I've never owned Naughty Monkeys before, and there is nowhere near my place where I can try any out. Everyone who has owned a pair from this brand says they love them and that they are very comfortable...and if I'm gonna cycle in these they better be darn comfortable.

Anyway, the purpose of this thread is two-fold. One: should I buy the pair? I have a little bit of disposable income right now that does not need to be funneled to bike crap, so no worries about cost (it's around $60 with shipping). I'm more worried about whether they really are comfy or not. Two: which color do I buy--the one with black trim, or the one with the tan trim?

I leave the decision up to you, oh great and powerful Foo...

edit: also, if you guys wanna share some more shoe pr0n you are very welcome to do so!!

I can't believe you even had to ask....they'd already be in my closet!

BTW, I'd go with the black trim if I had to pin it down to 1 pair...but I'd find some reason to buy both!

Yes, but which color? Both are yummy and would go with most of the stuff in my closet...

edit: d'oh, you edited your reply right after I posted this.

I do not own a black skirt. That is just a nasty rumor spreading around the internets.

I think a pair of Sidi's would be oh so much more sexier.

Nah- forget the Sidis. Put a pair of cleats on these babies (the ones with the black trim, natch), and you'll be seriously stylin'.

If you already have shoes that will match black, get the tan trimmed ones. Those can fill some major shoe gaps in your closet... I love them!

Sorry, but nothing is sexier than a woman wearing high heels while (successfully) riding a bike.

Nu uh. Sidis only look sexy on a mean, fast, "leave you in the dust, bwahahahaha!!!" road bike. I have cute little foldies and a mixte. NO CYCLING SHOES on those bikes, as they'd totally ruin the casual pootling vibe. Besides, I no haz clipless pedals on my pootling bikes. Also, sidis are 2-3x the cost of the naughty monkeys.

But if I get bike crap instead of shoes, what will I get? I already have all I need for now, except maybe parts for the Moulton Speed 4 I'm hot-rodding...but I still don't know where to get replacement suspension elastomers for that bike.

I like the second pair better, as I'm biased towards autumn colors.

Can't imagine the havoc those wreak on your toes, feet, legs, & back. I say sensible & supportive is the way to go. I rock my running shoes on a daily basis.

Well-supported, well-fitting heels (like the naughty monkeys are, according to those who own them) are actually better for your feet than unsupported flats (like some ballet-flat-like shoes that are totally cute but totally bad for your feet). But of course they will be worse than running shoes.
