True Confessions Vol I: Get It Off Your Chest

-I'm in love, but I think my girlfriend's friendship with a married man is just wrong. It drives me crazy.

-I wish my dad was alive so he could advise me on dealing with other men (like shady married dude). Sorry women, but sometimes your advice regarding such matters is for the birds. And by birds I mean women.

-I have fantasized about death but think disappearing in Asia would be far more interesting. I also think that death is not an option, and that your life and death affects others, etc...so no, I'm not suicidal. Just frequently in pain.

-I would rather be taller than richer.

-The more the prospect of marriage looms, the closer I get to ending my life as an artist and settling down to a boring job and taking care of mundane things. C'est La Vie.

-I haven't really ridden a bicycle in over a year. I'm scared witless after getting hit by a truck.

-Cycling keeps me sane. See above.

- I think Serendipper needs to get reacquainted with his bike.

- I consider myself the ****up of the family.

- I think I'm going to be happier in the end than the rest of my family.

Ironically, I am happier and in a better position than all of my family, and probably 85% of the people I meet don't have it as good or easy as me.

My gf pointed this out to me. Thanks for reminding me. As for the bike...ahhh.... PTSD sucks.

-I always think I'm going to aspire to something great even though I'm lazy, fat, and do nothing with my life.

-I haven't ridden a bike in almost a year because for me it's a 2+ man sport, I hate solo.

Thought of driving your bike to the rails to trails place close to you? I have put over three thousand miles on my bike, and not one mile on the road.

Thought about a lot of things. Never followed though.

That's why my dream of being an X-Wing fighter pilot is sadly just a dream.

OK, here's my 2 cents worth, I assume you are concerned this will escalate into something else with this guy ... otherwise you wouldn't be concerned. I'm not sure if this is just your insecurities or if you have a real reason to be concerned. Either way, it's not worth staying in a relationship long term if there are serious trust issues. Talk to her about it, and then evaluate the situation from there.

No worries, I'm just really insecure.

Damn, it just got quiet in here.

You're an artist. You're supposed to be insecure. Artwork is nothing without some suffering.

We're doubly cursed...imaginative (read: paranoid, borderline delusional), insecure and attractive to beautiful, equally insecure women.

Mine off the top of my head:

* why can't we (nations, religions, etc) all just get along alFNGready

* I want my hair back - I am a guy with great hair trapped in a bald dude's body

* I miss a loved one who is gone

For Dipper:

1. I think Alfster's advice is very wise; any guy in your shoes would be a little anxious over that, but no reason to let it become a bigger deal than necessary - talk to her about it when you're both in a good open and receptive mood and I'll bet you can draw some lines that work for both of you.

2. You're too handsome and talented to be insecure.

3. +1 on the Rail Trails. My wife hates traffic and she loves going up to Westchester (about a half-hour drive or train ride north of Manhattan) to ride car-free with me on the weekends. I totally understand being gun-shy but when you're ready you'll be back on two wheels.

Dont give up the artist in you ! NOTHING is worth that, NOTHING !
I did that for decades and now that Im getting back into I see that all those

get them back.

You have a soul mate on the other stuff. If I dont get out of FL soon,

No offence, but most women want to tell me all about how "harmless" and "okay" it is for women to have male friends while in a commited relationship. Guys present themselves in such a positive light around women, I understand. But as a man, I think that a married man that likes to hang out with my girl is shady. What do they have to talk about/have in common? He seems to use her to complain about his marriage/get a "boost". She is not friends with the wife. What is that all about?

Oh well, she knew him before me so I guess he comes with the package. He was the one she called before we went out for the first time to inform/ask for advice. I believe that, for her part, they are just friends. But I do not trust that he respects me. At all.

Damn man. Damn. That why I said I have fantasies of a specacular death. Not suicidal, but wouldn't want to rot away in some corner office as a "has been" either.

Oh well...I'm shooting for a spectacular life. Death is not an option.

Dude, If a women loves you and you say her guy friends bug you...that should be a no brainer for her.

Otherwise find someone else who respects your wishs...

You will also have to respect the wishes of the above described woman as well.
