Saw it tonight, the acting was amazing. I like how they handled the creation of the alternate timeline to allow the change in backstory.

Best Star Trek movie I have seen in ages.

I've already been instructed, by my 75 yr old Mom - a devoted trekee from day 1, that she and I have a date next weekend to see the newest film.

hehe - my brother and sister and families, et al - got a real eye splattering load of all the stuff they've been sending Mom over the years to add to her Trekkie collection. Let's talk a full garage and a half. Puzzles, coffee cups, stuffed dolls, murals, blankets ---- ohhhhh dear me - just a lot of freaking stuff. Stuff Mom doesn't really look at anymore - but the STUFF keeps coming in.

I suppose it may be because it's the thing you can give her without knowing what to give her - but you know ultimately she would like (I would like to add a derogatory statement here about not purchasing that stuff, but at this moment I can't - ggrrrrr - please purchase stuff they like), but ohhhhh really, it's a lot. Cups, sticks, vulcan signs, cards, photos, holograms, oooooooooo .... ughhhhhhhhh. Stuuuuuuufffffffffffff.

Even Mom looked at all of IT in the garage(s) and eventually the storage unit(s) and said something about the mass ....

Christmas ornements, oven mitts, outdoor stones, and OMG - E.N.T.E.R.P.R.I.S.E ships? Mannnnnny boxes.

Yep. Already planning on that popcorny day for Mom. That's her Mom's day present in planning ....

I had plans to watch it tonight but nstead I decided to spend some time with my wife. It just so happened that she was pd off with me for helping her brother out two years ago (to save his marriage). I should have just gone to watch star trek instead; then I would have had a positive contribution.

But seriously I'm gonna wait for it to come out on the really big theatres with balcony seating, front row!

Can't wait to see it. Sounds cool. You gotta love anybody who can revive the Star Trek franchise. I'm not a Trekkie, but it is entertaining space foo. Nothing wrong with that.

Star Trek was great, X-Men Origins was kinda weak though, which was really sad I was expecting a whole lot more than what I got.

I find that movies loose their glory when you watch them for the first time on DVD, but thats just me.

Ms. MillCreek and I enjoy watching movies on DVD via Netflix. This is primarily because both of us are hard of hearing, and it can sometimes be difficult to catch the dialog in the theater. The DVDs have closed-captioning. But there are some movies that we will go to see on the big screen, such as Trek and Harry Potter movies. We can usually catch most of the dialog there.
