Need some housing info for Sacremento.

My cousin, her daughter and dog are moving to Sacramento very soon, and I'm hoping to get some info for her on the housing situation there. Any help would be appreciated. She'll be looking for a decent neighborhood, and kid and pet safe area. Good school/Preschool is a must!

Hey Tom, I'm in the Sacramento area. I assume they're moving for your cousin's job? In what area will she be working? It'll help pin things down from there.

City-Data.com has some info on Sacramento--it's mostly statistical stuff (income distribution, home values, common occupations, ethnicity distribution, weather, etc) about Sacramento as a whole, but there's also info about Sacramento neighborhoods.

And there's a forum with a Sacramento subforum.

But I don't know anything about Sacramento.

Tom, you could try asking member Blank Crows. He lives in Sacramento. My brother lived in SMF when he was in the Air Force. He thought it was hot and muggy most of the time. Can't help you with the housing question, though, as he lived in base housing.

That's pretty broad, and could encompass a number of different areas in suburbia.

Ah. I don't know the area well enough for that. Haven't been here that long.
