animal visitors

i lay in wait heavily disguised keeping an eye on the garden to see what comes into my garden this evening.

a fox crawled through the fence, peed on my tomato plants and left.

then a couple of cats took the bait i left outside (some minced beef). funny how they seem to share, not gobbling down everything. a couple of bites and they wander off.

then 2 baby squirrels fell out of a tree and ran off followed by the mother.

all pretty tame stuff. what exciting animals visit your garden. I'm hoping to hear of mountain lions, cougars, bears etc.

Had a red tailed hawk dining on a squirrel in my garden when I got home. No pics though as the hawk flew off when I opened the back door.

Nothing much exciting. We have a fence up to keep stuff from eating all our veggies. What all are you growing?

Have an opossum and a few raccoons rummage the backyard where the feral cats live. Rather unnerving to be outside late standing there and hearing a rustling - only to see the fugly opossum walk by - very slowly - and it doesn't care about any noise I make - it has it's own agenda and doesn't give snit about me.

Other than that - nothing else wild, except for the city neighborhood ...

Had a black bear wander through my moms house while she was sitting there. She thought it was my big black lab and reached down and gave him a pet.

Coons, fox, timber rats, dogs cats, cougar once, deer and skunk round out the pack.

We had some city folk move in across the only stree in town and started feeding these cute little dogs and for years afterward we had those nasty fox stealing chickens all over town.

3 does. Strange, considering we're in the middle of the city.
