installing zenzart and running a test webpage on a local site (ie my laptop)

I installed zencart a couple of months ago, got XAMPP running and was able to start working on a webpage with a shopping cart system on it. Then I became distracted by my day job and am now getting back to it.

I'm able to call up phpMyadmin so I can see the databases that I created back in August. However, I can't figure out how to get the zencart test webpage up on my computer. I forgot what I did. I even tried running the zencart install script again, but even that doesn't work.

According to one tutorial it says to run the script this way:

I use my IP address for localhost, but I'm not sure what path name to use for the zencart directory. On my laptop, here's where the zencart directory is:
Macintosh HD/Users/Snicklefritz/local_sites/zencartdir
I've tried substituting that line (or parts of it) for {zen-cart-directory** above, but nothing happens.

What can I do to get my zencart window back up?

Any ideas
