Gold prices

Yo, so I have a 7ish year old emerald ring I was trying to get made into a pendant, quoted $250.00 at two different jewellers. Too expensive. Ring only cost $275 when it was brand new. Second jeweller today explained why it's so expensive, the cost of gold has gone through the roof, the ring that cost under $300 so long ago, she first said is now worth maybe $900. I said "WHAAAAAAAAAAT?!!, it only cost $275 like 7-8 years ago!!!" I literally felt faint i was so shocked. So anyway, I opted to get the shank repaired and wear it as a ring. She later said it's maybe worth $600...still. Did I mention it's only 10kt gold?! Dang!

Turns out my other cheapie rings would also cost a ****load right now. At least twice what their original cost was.

My advice to you foosters, if you have some gold jewellry sitting around you don't really want, maybe sell it...you could cut a tidy profit perhaps. Crikey!

Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results.

When commodities like gold start selling off, there is no parachute large enough to save your financial life.

Gold has gone down recently, might want to wait a little.
