Wait...am I NOT supposed to list my cats also? I don't think "Gianni" and "Calvin" will attract much interest...but "Pixie" might draw some attention.

Lots of odd stuff on this form:
Look at question 10 (first PAge) or question 7 (other pages):
"Does Person X sometimes live or stay somewhere else?" Possible answers include "In jail or prison" (guess I'll have to wait until April 1 to see if I'm in jail/prison at that time), "For child custody" (if my ex-spouse is hunting me down to collect back child support), "In a nursing home" (most foosters probably should be confined to one anyway
),
Also note in the Start Here block that it doesn't want you to list anyone who's in jail or in a nursing home, even though they want that information listed on other parts of the form.
Question 8 - Hispanic/Latino/Spanish Origin question - probably included due to political pressure. BTW: Ain't Spaniards Europeans, sothey are really white folks? Guess the Fed employees who amde this form flunked geography!
Whats your telephone #? - Which one? I have three

The only part I filled out is "How many people live in your household" and then shoved it back in the envelope.

Why would you want to lie on your census form, or omit details? I don't get it.

most people just get a short, headcount form. one of my friends received a long form during the last census... we thought it was really weird that one of the few non-electric, unplumbed households in WV would receive the long form which actually asks how many bathrooms a house has, etc. No question for outhouses, either!

...And also they forgot to make a category for Argentinians immigrants... they are gonna be really angry for being labeled Hispanic/Latino. Aparently, "Español" and "Castellano" are different languages and Argentina is an extension of Europe.

If the census is the best example of why you think we live in an Orwellian hellhole, then you are a complete idiot.

I think they could have saved a lot of paper if they could send shorter forms - for instance, I live in an apartment complex of all 1 and 2 BR apartments. No WAY 12 people are living in one of them. Probably could have been a 1-pager, 1-sided.
I realize the complexities of this are too complex, but still... I could have fit my answers on a postcard.

This was my first ever thread in Foo.
Re-reading it the big surprise was the "Guest" poster! I forgot about those.
Anyhoo I just did my census and got it out of the way. I'm pretty optimistic that A) I'll be alive and in the same old place on 1 April and B) my wife won't have run off with the UPS guy.
Under race I used "Other" and said I used to but haven't in about 15 years.

The Mexicans around here were running back to Mexico but the Border Patrol won’t let them back into Mexico. I was going to hire ahsposo to mow my grass as his wife ran off with the UPS guy.

I filled out the online form over a week ago. Still not as "fun" as the old paper version.
Race: White – For example, German, Irish, English, Italian, Lebanese, Egyptian, etc.
This had me write in American. I've been telling my kids that we've been in the USA for so many generations that we are simply American.
Race: Black or African Am. – For example, African American, Jamaican, Haitian, Nigerian, Ethiopian, Somali, etc.
This made me wonder where the bi-racial entry would be? My three step kids are 1/2 black and 1/2 white. One of them still lives at home, so he made our household census.
