1st Trail ride!

My 4 1/2 year old daughter hit the trail today for the first time. Just a couple of miles. She's been riding on the pavement and grass for a while now, but this was her first day on dirt. She had a blast... despite the OTB crash near the end of the ride and a bloody chin.

At one point, she looked back over shoulder at me and said, "This is AWESOME!"

First real downhill:

The grin says it all!

This summer I finally got my 7 yo grandson off training wheels. That was on a Tuesday. On Thursday we went for a 13 mile trail ride!

That's too cute, she's having a blast! Is that the State Park at Cheyenne Mountain?

May those be the first of millions of dusty smiles.

Yay no training wheels yay no training wheels yay no training wheels yay no training wheels yay no training wheels yay no training wheels yay no training wheels yay no training wheels yay no training wheels yay no training wheels.

I figure if my kid ever needs training wheels, I have failed as a parent. I talked my co-worker into teaching his daughter how to learn to ride without training wheels, and just before she turned four she learned to ride without help in just two days.

And, I think your daughter already does better on a dirt train than I ever could...
