August 2010 Foo Photo Contest - VOTE NOW!!

This month's theme was chosen by June's winner, Greg180. The theme for August is religion.

Remember this is photos only, other commentary needs to go in P&R.

Theme: Religion
Rules: You must be the photographer
One entry per month
Try to make the image a recent one.

Good luck everyone!

That is a mosque behind the bridge.

BTW, That is a guy jumping from the bridge with his upper body tied up. Height is about 90 feet from top of the bridge to the river below. It was an event.

someone beat me to it.

I was going to post this. it is located in outside of a shinto garden and prayer area in Birmingham.

so instead, there is a roman temple that over looks Homewood, one of the surburbs of Birmingham. This 60 ton structure has actually been moved once to it's current location at the top of the mountain.

Why Holy Sepulchre of course for the religious theme.

To take it a step farther, all those headstones to the viewer's right of the chapel are priests' graves.

Some months I have difficulty picking one that fits the theme well. This month is a difficult theme. Yet there are already three that are, in my opinion, phenomenal in composition and theme.

This is one from Bath, England. It's a scan of a 35mm shot with a Nikon FM. Not sure if it meets the criteria but I'll throw it in there.
