those look good to me mrodgers !!......

I found using Nik software (especially silver efex and color efex) helped by looking at images with different adjustments made by the software to my original. After a while you'll see patterns of adjustments for certain looks and then you can just use lightroom etc. or continue with Nik. I don't know how google buying Nik has affected it but they probably still have a trial download to try. Hopefully it works with lightroom 2.

There was an ancient Indian burial ground and village found during construction on the CSU Long Beach campus. For the last 44 years there has been an annual Pow Wow on the site.

Flowing water isn't all that common around these parts, even more so lately with the ongoing drought, but found a few locations on a local creek to capture the water's movement:

Always an inspiration Clemsongirl, but I'll stick with minimal post processing for now. Cuda2k - that's great - your flowing water shows the individual droplets and looks "real" - I find those silky, long exposure waterfall shots to be a bit of a cliché.

Here are a few shots from a trip north of the City over the weekend.

Just some toning on the two pow wow monochrom's! The difference between the two camera/lens combinations i used that day had more of an impact than post :>) The day also had some very interesting conversations about Native American spirituality.

Shot these the other day while visiting Longwood Gardens. A trip we made to break the weariness that has set in from a L O N G winter.

After leaving the tulips, I headed toward Mt Baker:

On my way up the mountain I encountered a light drizzle, and then the sun came out. I knew there would be a rainbow somewhere nearby, but I didn't expect it to be this spectacular! And Mt Shuksan was just starting to shed its cloud cover.

Finally, the Mt Baker ski area is still covered in a deep snow.

I also took three different film cameras with me, but I won't have those pictures until Wednesday or Thursday.

I saw my first avian Roadrunner there.

One of my favorite personal pictures is a view from one of the original homesteaders doorway looking out. I think the guy's name was Goodnight and he had a dugout in to the canyon wall.

Here's that shot of Goodnight's front yard:
