Anyone excited about the time change? (Not you Az, Not you HI)
So we get and extra hour of daylight. I get to go from weekend warrior to daily rider now. Score!

Yes. I can put away a headlight and the reflective vest, and occasionally mow the yard after work instead of waiting for the weekend all the time.

Almost always a fan of it staying light out a little longer. Growing up, we had to be in when the streetlights came on. That extra time was like a pay raise for a kid. Now it marks the time when weekday club rides start to appear on the calendar. The teenage driving years I felt somewhat different. Couldn't wait for it to get dark, and take the GF to Inspiration Point.

Hell Yeah I am. The ability to fit rides in after a client or 2 is drastically increased with every hour of sunlight.

No, I ride in the morning, so for the next couple of weeks, its riding in the pitch black in a group of 50-100+. No fun.

All DST means is we're fooling ourselves into doing everything an hour earlier than we did in the winter.

Allen 03-11-11 07:22 PM

I much prefer DST.

I hate getting out of school/work and it's dark already by 4PM. I'm more energetic when there is more light out.

JoelS 03-11-11 07:36 PM

I wish "they" would pick one standard and leave our time there. This back and forth by an hour every year is tedious.

X-LinkedRider 03-11-11 08:02 PM

Agreed, but it does give you that every 6 month motivation or pay attention to your schedule a little nicer if nothing else.

CbadRider 03-11-11 08:03 PM

Am I excited? No.

I'm doing a half marathon on Sunday, which means I'll be getting up at 3:30 am instead of 4:30 am.

NOT one of Ben's best ideas.

HATE it. Throws me off, and I STAY off, for the whole time.

One more time: [email protected]#$%^&*() HATE THAT )(*&^%$#@!

I will get my rides in, regardless; the later sunset just makes it harder to get the kids down for bed that last month of school.

excited about getting up early? no, excited about it being light later so I can commute home? yeah...

I've never bought into the whole idea of January 1st being the beginning of the year. That's like saying 2:30am is the beginning of the day, or Tuesday lunchtime is the beginning of the week. I don't see how you can 'begin' something when the world is still in its dormant phase.

No, for me the year begins the day the clocks go forward and I can do stuff after work.

All times are GMT -6. The time now is 10:06 PM.
