None of them appear to have 3 eyes or external gills or even prehensile tails.

I've been to Fort Stewart, but it has been several years.

It's very similar to Charlie Elliott, which by the way is across the street from my great grand pa's plantation.

I've been to Charlie Elliot....the fish were not biting when I was there.
I may go back for hunting season though....

Tropoical Depressions always improve the fishing. Yesterday's catch!

I freshwater fished yesterday, right through the rain.

Average for here. I've caught bigger. My biggest bluegill I ever caught was down here in Fla at 11 1/2 inches and just under3 pounds. It missed the state record by a couple ounces.

By the way, a nearly 3 pound bluegill fights a lot like a 15 pound largemouth bass, for feel. They are SCRAPPY!

By the way, that big channel cat was a hell of a fighter, as well. He was a jumper....lots of airtime trying to throw the hook. He also weighed in at a heavy 8 1/2 pounds and 23 inches long. He's been eating well.

I bought a goodly amount of fishing equipment this last week.
Scored an English made Madison reel for $30.00
Bought a new vise and a bunch of tying materials
Some UV cure epoxy
And two 6 foot lengths of steel to make a new jig for planing swelled butt and cane ferrule rods.

A 3 lb bluegill? Damn that must've been something. My kids and I like catching them off the dock at my folks place in NH. The biggest one we've caught may have been pushing 1.5 lbs. And yes they fight like heck and are a blast on light tackle.

Yeah, since I moved down here, my perspective in what a small fish is has really taken a big shift upward. Small is anything under 2 feet, now.

Yeah, I know. He hasn't popped up on the radar since 2009. Hope he is still on the right side of the grass.

When I was Younger. 75 lb gar on a rod and reel.

Would have held the state record for 10 years if I had turned it in.
