Was thinking about Stacey today when I saw a mention of the band Runrig. I remembered she posted a video of one of their songs and went looking for it. More than 149,000 views -- Joe and Shadiyah are famous!

Haven't been around much recently, but just realized I joined BF 7 years and 5 days ago. It's been a crazy 7 years and 5 days.

I thought that you'd been in China that long. That WOULD be crazy.

I'd been hearing a strange creaking/popping sound coming from the front end of my commuter bike. This had been going on for several weeks, and I could not figure out what it was. The other day I noticed my front wheel had a little play in it. I didn't have time to attend to it during the week, and I forgot to look at it last weekend, so today I finally cracked open the front hub. Needless to say, loose/not properly sealed bearings do not find springtime in the PNW agreeable. I'm going to at least need a new cone and bearings on one side, and I'm afraid to look at the bearing races inside the hub body.

Lamplight 03-24-13 02:45 PM

*Sigh* Nope, the hub's pretty much shot. Looks like I'll be buying a new wheel (and trying to figure out how to get to work in the mean time).

Even longer. I arrived in China in August 2004!

It's 8:30 Monday morning, and based on the last 10 minutes, I'm going to be doing good not to kill someone by end of the day today.

I second that motion. We just got snowmeggadon (well about 3 inches), I was late to work, get here and all systems are down.

Good Morning FOO!

At least you're setting goals for the workday.

Wordbiker 03-25-13 07:32 AM

What sucks about having such a great weekend is having to face the work week afterwards.

Serenity now.
Insanity later.

BenzFanatic 03-25-13 07:41 AM

That's a nice song:)

Two weeks left here. Yay!

I wish I knew. Some of you might think I'm crazy...others might know it as fact, but this last weekend was the second date with a woman that I truly respect, is completely independent, is more attractive than I ever thought I could pull, has a complete sense of adventure and above all odds...seems to be into me. My current mode is to just not screw it up.

Lamplight 03-26-13 09:41 AM

My hands have decided to do that thing where they can't grip the doorknob hard enough to turn it. Which means no work for me today, unless they improve. I can't decide if I'm happy or sad.

Just went off on one of our customers. I put up with his whining for months. He kept at it and I lost it.

Road trip to Las Vegas. Called my boss and told him I needed a few days off.

Stopped for lunch and Monster in Baker, Ca. This ranks right up there with most depressing towns in America.

Did you hit the casinos?

That's why I came. So far I've spent close to 16 hours at poker tables.

BenzFanatic 03-29-13 06:24 AM

Haha, reminds me, I have a friend who recently had to move back home because of problems at the tables...

I'm trying to decide today if I should adopt this amazing little tabby at the shelter. He's literally the sweetest cat I've ever met, and he's shaved like a lion due to badly matted fur. The sweet part also worries me though, because I'd prefer not to have an overly needy cat.
Here he is

Drinking coffee, reading the webz, putting together a procedures document, reconciling two system reports, and generally waiting for spring to finally get here.
