How does everyone else at the pub feel about this? Oh, and congrats.

They didn't seem to mind. Folks are generally pretty even keeled about things there.

Also, Seamus is still holding out. Maybe this morning, maybe later today.

Nope, it's not even turbo. Just an N/A Impreza. It does idle kinda loud maybe but it's really not loud. I can barely hear it in my house with windows closed.

The WRX is a loud car... can't see why an Impreza would cause issues unless she is some kind of special snowflake.

They've been at the pub a mighty long time... perhaps they should move to a birthing center or even a hospital?

Sipping coffee on my deck, listening to the birds, letting the legs rest from the 12 mile mtb ride, and getting ready to mow the grass. Need to hit the grocery store this afternoon as well.....may fling a few arrows at the target later on today.

Went to the MEC gear swap today and for $40.00 came home with a new Deore derailleur, some Tektro V brakes, a Deuter backpack, and my score of the morning was a Leatherman Charge Ti that I picked up for $30.00.

Now I have a chatty little bird sitting on my shoulder while I enjoy coffee and figure out what to do with the rest of the day...

Pondering how to do a few small details in the apartment renovation.

Also - recovering from last night's rainstorms. It was a little wet around here...

I think our area was about 400mm in 24hrs.

skijor 05-11-14 11:24 PM

^ Damn...I hope your bike has outriggers.

bigbenaugust 05-12-14 08:21 AM

And it rained damn hard for most of last night too. We got another 50-70mm in our part of town and one area got another 100mm.

There are landslide warnings for some areas.

Key thing is this:

Rain = no riding. :(

bigbenaugust 05-12-14 07:28 PM

Landslide warning in HK... nuts, absolutely nuts. As if y'all have room for a landslide.

There isn't room - that is the problem. There have been a few famous ones which caused considerable loss of life (i.e. 50+ persons). Slope maintenance and drain clearing are taken very seriously.

I have a friend who lives in the Midlevels, he's been there since '09.

Living underneath the jets on approach to Kai Tak (RIP) back in the day suddenly looks very safe by comparison.

SoCal fire season has arrived early this year. :(

Sitting at at home waiting to see if I have to evacuate.

Hopefully all went well with that! I assume you've been busy with grandparenting duties, particularly if it's your first.

Wildfires scare the hell out of me. Good luck, Cbad.

One last open-notes final for me tomorrow and I'm free... at least until I get a second job.

You too. It seems like every area in North County is burning.
