Rube' is Sick

In before the "I knew that" comments... I mean *really*, I have some kind of cold or something. Picked it up from the cohabitant about a week ago. But it has affected me real bad. I'm coughing 95% of the time. If I lay down I can't breathe so getting any quality sleep is out of the question. I feel to drowse (maybe the meds) to drive or ride. Is like your life is placed on paused. I'm getting frustrated, being at home all the time when I have so many things to do.

I've been doing a pretty good job at keeping the kids healthy, lots of Lysol and my own drinking cups labeled (Rube's Sick Cup - DO NOT USE), etc.

Being sick sucks.

Have you gone to the doctor to check if it's pneumonia? Coughing all the time isn't a good sign.

If you can't ride a bike, at least you can hang out on Foo.

Get better... and don't cough on me.

Maybe too much lysol, get dirty, exercise that immune system. Once you're feeling better that is.

No Doc yet (unemployed/uninsured atm). I'm on a "shotgun approach" with broad spectrum antibiotics, Mucinex, Allergy medicines and good old Pepto Bismol.

lol... that part remind me about a little known Rube'(TM) era when Rube was engaged to a Microbiologist. They *really* love Lysol after a full day of studying little crippers trough microscopes.

Eh, this microbiologist isn't such a lysol fan. we occasionally try to get our 6 month old to eat dirt or things to build up her immune system. Plus, I just hate the smell of lysol.

Your monogamous relationship has lowered your antibodies that prospered as a variety player in days past.
At one time your immune system was risistant to STD's, Black Plague, and Ebola virus.

Some more things to try to get that cough settled down and breathing better...Hot showers with eucalyptus tablets (or a hot vapor bath). Vapor plug-ins in the bedroom. Drink hot tea. Run a cold air vaporizer in the bedroom. Prop yourself up with pillows and cushions so you are almost sitting up in bed.

I don't like to give the kids a ton of meds and these things help make them more comfortable.

I think in part that proverb relates mostly to human spirit.
If the Rubester gets caught in the middle of a Columbian cartel shootout in downtown Miami and looks like swiss cheese, this will not strengthen his body.It will however inspire his will to survive.
