Famous last words...

Did you or a sibling say things as a kid that got you into trouble but is kind of amusing in retrospect?

I'll start.

My family was on vacation and was staying in a very nice Marriott hotel in San Diego. I was in the elevator one morning with my little brother, then 5 years old, who said "What does that red button do"?

It took several hours before they could pry the doors open and get us out, particularly problematic because the elevator was stuck between floors. Of course the alarms were ringing throughout the hotel. I'm not sure how little 'bro survived that one. (he's now in law school)

Travelling from Southern CO to Northern CO many times, one gets to know the small towns along the way, and which police departments exist almost solely upon their speed traps. While on one such trip I was careful to observe the posted limits and drive just under them, yet another vehicle on the same route piloted by a young woman passed me. I uttered, "see you in Saguache". On the next long straight stretch of highway just outside of Saguache, sure enough, I saw an oncoming vehicle in the far distance flip a U-turn, then pull them over. We waved as we passed by.

Since then we always say, "See you in Saguache" whenever we're overtaken by less than careful drivers.

"Don't worry, we have a backup" <--- still gives me the creeps every time

"I Do" ... this is Rube' talkin' so it had to be said.

"Can't wait till the baby start talking" ... <-- self explanatory for any parent.

"I know a shortcut"
